For our 10th Anniversary (of figures), one of my all-time favorites, and perhaps the Pomme that first pollenated my love of glass.

My love of glass derived from my perfume thing, and of course lalique is almost synonymous with nouveau/deco/art glass perfume bottles.

Why the apple? So much symbolic meaning can be attached to apples, or just because you likes them?

No symbolism thoughts come to mind only the pure beauty of the piece......

Funny that you are literally on the other side of the world, and yet you too know Lalique.

I love the simplicity of the piece, the purity of the frosted glass. Though, for some reason, I've never had occasion to give one of these, if I did, she would obviously be very dear to me, and it would then mirror/reflect/redeem that other more significant gender crossing apple giving. Mostly, though, I love the curves and the infinite softness the frosted glass gives to the eye, thereby mirroring another interest of mine.

But, yunno, Love is a lot like poetry, which as Eliot says, if you can completely explain it, it isn't poetry.

Did you know Lalique makes a red one of these?

Thanks for visiting.

Nina Ricci (perfumier) do "apple" bottles, including one thats a collectable Lalique masterpiece: very much like your pomme here, but with stinky stuff in them.

Just sayin'

Didn't know, but following through on your search pointer made it clear to me what "#11" is going to be. So thanks, and ...

Yes ... elegance ... simplicity, what an endlessly lovely ballet they make.

I should probably buy one of those Pommes while they still can be found.
